RECRUITMENT NOTICE
TEMPORARY POSITIONS FOR BIOMETRIC VOTER REGISTRATION 2023
SOLOMON ISLANDS ELECTORAL OFFICE
The Solomon Islands Electoral Office in its preparation towards the Biometric Voter Registration update for all constituencies throughout the country is seeking to recruit Temporary Voter Registration Officials. The number of positions for each Province and SIEC Headquarter positions are as follows:

- Must be a Solomon Islands citizen
- Must be 18 years of age and above
- Tertiary qualification in public administration, finance or any relevant field with good working experience
- Good understanding of the fundamentals of a free, fair, credible democratic election and strong leadership qualities.
- Broad knowledge and understanding of the Electoral System in the Solomon Islands.
- Applicants are not to contest the 2024 Provincial Assembly Election, Honiara City Council and National General Election.
- Good knowledge of the province/ Constituency or local community of application
- Must be neutral – no political affiliations with intending candidates or political groupings of any kind.
- Demonstrate strong leadership qualities and experience
- Work and Reside in constituencies or provincial headquarters.
- Must possess exemplary communication skills with a very high degree of confidence when dealing with voters, politicians and the public;
- Previous experience in similar roles in voter registration or elections events would be an advantage.
- Physically and medically fit and healthy.
- Applicants are not to contest the 2024 Provincial Assembly

- Equivalent to completion of Tertiary education or IT related
- certificates are advantageous
- Have past experience in Electoral Data Processing
- Must be Computer literate- MS Access, Word, Excel, Windows-based application
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Communicate well and work as part of a team.
- Physically and medically fit to work under pressure

Provincial Awareness Coordinator |

- Must be 18 years of age and above
- Tertiary qualification in public relations, communication or teaching professional
- Relevant disciplines with 2-3 years of experience in delivering awareness programmes and education
- Have good experience in public speaking and public relations
- Good Knowledge of the locality and local networks
- Speak Solomon Islands Pidgin fluently and be able to speak the local dialect of the constituency of implementation
- Applicants are not to contest the 2024 Provincial Assembly Election, and National General Election
- Must Work and live in or near Provincial headquarters.

Provincial Training Coordinator |

- Must be a Solomon Islands citizen
- Must be 18 years of age and above
- Tertiary Qualification in Adult education or teaching, Public Administration, or equivalent field. Accredited Certified Training qualifications are mandatory.
- Professional Training experience working in a training department of a complex organisation or professional training in the education sector.
- Knowledge of SI Electoral Systems and the support mechanisms required to ensure their success;
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
- Working and living in or near Provincial headquarters would be an advantage
- Applicants are not to contest the 2024 Provincial Assembly Election, and National General Election

Communication & Admin Officer |

- Must be a Solomon Islands citizen
- Must be 18 years of age and above
- A recognised administrative or communications qualification to certificate level or
- At least 2-3 years’ experience in a similar or complementary role.
- Experience working for public, private, NGO and other sectors in communication and administration roles.
- Basic understanding of the election system in the Solomon Islands, e.g.: Election Cycle/Phase, Types of Elections etc.
- Work and living in or near the Provincial Headquarters would be an advantage.
