Solomon Islands Electoral Taskforce acknowledges participants from numerous stakeholder groups in Makira for their support and contributions during the two days electoral reform consultation program held in Kirakira last week.

It was a valuable set of discussions and investment of time as it was appreciated by participants for given the opportunity to share and freely express their views on the electoral reform agenda items that is currently in consultation nationwide.

The consultation continues and the Electoral Taskforce team will be leaving today (Friday 3rd June) from Honiara for Isabel Province, on their third provincial consultation program scheduled for the 6th and 7th of June, 2022.

​​​​​Acting Chief Electoral Officer Mr. Fredrick Bosoboe pleads with various stakeholders from Isabel to turn up for this consultation program and that they can physically contribute directly with the Taskforce and to participate in the law-making process in the country, especially on election related reform.

 Day 1 one of the programs will involve consultations with the provincial assembly and executive, Day 2 will be stakeholders from various groupings and organizations.

There next planned consultation on the schedule will be Malaita, followed by Western Province.

Mr. Bosoboe urges provincial governments leaders and representatives, our various electoral stakeholders within the remaining provinces to continue to show the same forms of support towards these important reforms.

Time remains a considerable factor for the Electoral Commission and its Taskforce, ensuring that it strives to complete its remaining provincial consultations according to schedule.
