Solomon Islands Electoral Commission

SIEC is an independent electoral management body established by the national Constitution of Solomon Islands [Section 57 (1)]. This body conducts elections and by-elections in the Solomon Islands. Its composition is prescribed under Section 57 (1) of the national Constitution. It consists of the speaker, who shall be the Chairman of the Commission and two other members appointed by the Governor General, acting in accordance with the advice of the Judicial and Legal Service Commission.
