All Solomon Islands citizens aged 18 and above, ordinarily resident in the ward in which they will vote can register as voter.
However, the following people are not eligible to register as voters:
- People declared mentally disordered;
- People who have been sentenced to a period of six month or more months of imprisonment; and
- People convicted of electoral offences whom the High Court has declared to be disqualified for registration as voters or from voting in an election.
